fitting rear wheel?

every time I fit a rear wheel, I get stuck trying to fit the spacers into the gap
between the bearings and the swing arm
and end up using a nail bar to lever the swing arm wider.

can anyone tell me the secret or technique for fitting?

With the bike on a stand, I normally kneel behind so I can support the wheel with my knees while fiddling with the axle and spacers.

2 bars one is axel pushed through partialy then another to line up from other side and a block of wood under tyre...

its the second spacer I always have trouble with ..
after placing the axle partly in, one side, I push the second spacer into the seal/bearing .. but can't get it into place on the swing arm
as too tight, or, as this afternoon, a small ridge on the arm, stopping the spacer from sliding into place on the arm .. not even get it near the hole for the axle

Dip em in greese first and they should stay in place long enough

Don't buy an S10 then they can be a right fiddle to get the shaft splines lined up. I usually forget to take the caliper back off half way through the process whilst juggling with the wheel.

KTMs seem particularly tight (SA width)--others the SA gets squeezed a bit when you tighten the axle. The secret is good seals to hold the spacers in (with grease as well)--and slide the wheel with spacers in as one. trying to put the spacers in afterwards is just about impossible--and you'll wreck the seals as well. Some spacers (particularly aftermarket) come with a slight ridge on their inner diameter which holds them in the seals perfectly

I usually slide a shovel or spade under the back tyre, then you can lift the whole shebang and adjust the height with your foot whilst having both hands free.

With my KTM
I have a small 1" block of wood and a longer length about 18".
Roll the wheel along the length of wood that is on the small block.
Push wheel past the axle holes then pivot up with wood and pull wheel back into place.
The.swing arm seems to be wider just in front of axle points.
I can literally do this with one hand and my knee.
