Greetings,

I have used various models of Optimate, professional and diy, for about 20 years now.

So simple, connect a lead to your battery and let it get on with its job. I currently swop mine between three stored batteries in rotation.

No problems and always ready to go.

Used to be but not always one new ones.

I'm also a fan of Ctek chargers.

I've used a few different brands and still have a CTEK a lidl special and a class ohlson unbranded charger, they all work well and I am quite obsessive about battery maintenence, i see little difference between brands many have a desulfation mode, but i've not had to use this mode as I don't let batteries get to that state so can't comment, optimates are nothing special but they are feature heavy which some people are drawn to and of course have brand kudos
Remember Lead--Acid batteries are ancient and well known tech as are the charging requirements

Ive been using an optimate and an oximizer and there is no differance in performance that i can see ... although the optimate is a bit quicker bringing a low battery back to full than the oximizer is but not by much .
