Does anyone use a 'Tread Doctor' ?

Post by daveuprite »

Thinking of buying one of these, to extend the life of my enduro tyres:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tread-Doctor ... Sw44BYXiiy

You just re-square off the leading edge of the knobbles when they get blunted off, to give you fresh grip, and extra life from your knobblies. It heats up and cuts through rubber, like a kind of hot chisel blade.

I've been turning my AC10s for years, to get more time out of them, but the tread doctor idea looks like you could get double double life.

Has anyone on here used anything like this?

Cheers, Dave

Someone on another forum somewhere wired up an old soldering iron to a chisel and said that it worked.

Mind you, with my electrical skills I'd develop an instant afro and keel over.

Cheers Nick - yep, that's the one I'd buy. But if it means I'm called even more of a wanker than I am now, maybe I'll give it a miss...

Oh don't worry Dave, surely you must have already reached saturation point on that issue... :D

Who knows, maybe it'll turn out to be the best thing since sliced, err bread ... ( can't stand the stuff )

Well I suspected as much, but it's so heartwarming to have it confirmed...
