Nice repair. Potential catastrophic failure averted. Not what you expect really.

Thats a huge amount of fuel/weight to be carrying on the rear plate, plus the tail bag. I wonder if that contributed to the failure. Bouncing up and down off road. Couldn't of helped. Been like a speed boat in the sand, which is the way to go.
Notice the mighty 990 still going g strong lol

That's pretty serious. What is the load weight limit for off-roading with luggage on bikes like this? There must be a point at which the frames just can't cope with the weight being bumped up and down.

Superb looking repair. Perhaps the frame should have looked like that from the factory...

The rider was operating the bike outside the design parameters with that load on the rear end :o

The load limit for most stuff is usually depressingly low I have found even aftermarket racks, etc made for 'off road'. That frame will not have just broken suddenly but cracked over time I guess, still not good though. I used to get the sub frame gusseted , lovely word that, on the ktms if I was loading them or they crack at the mounting holes.

In the comments under the video he claims it was not overloaded and its the main frame that failed not the subframe so who knows :?: but maybe worth checking the frame if you own one :|
