Not sure this counts as "Technical" but thought it worth mentioning.
It's probably common knowledge anyway so forgive me if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs.
After a fork seal failed at the front and my scottoiler was set a bit high at the back, both my wheels were spattered with oil.
Took bike to local garage to use pressure washer but it barely touched it.
Not sure what made me think of it, but used a T*sco baby wipe and was genuinely surprised how effective it was. The scottoil took a little bit of elbow grease but not much, and the fork oil came off really easy.
Four wet wipes later and both wheels looked shiny and new with a bare minimum of effort.
Later found them better than the pressure washer at removing dead bugs from the front of the bike too.
Brilliant.
Wet wipes tip.

Mate, in 25 years I'll be 80. I doubt if I'll give a fuck if my bike is oily.Billy Bananahead wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 4:30 pm Better stock up.

Never mind wet wipes, I'll probably need nappies and a bib by then!

Make up wipes will be better as they’re designed to shift...erm... .greasy make up. Not good for visor though. I use autoglym super resin polish for that.

I heard some things can cloud a visor. I've been using sunglass wipes, they seem to come a massive boxes for a quid these days.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

spit and polish works for my visor when away but that auto glym is excellent stuff on polycarbonate ...hides scratches too....the rain just beads off...and wet wipes for camping saves on loo roll and soap and a towel

Re: Wet wipes tip.
Wet wipes have been used by truckers for years to get stubborn 5th wheel grease off anything and everything. WD40 on a cloth is just as effective at cleaning chain fling from a bike.
Current bike is a Yamaha T7
Re: Wet wipes tip.
Can this polish micro scratches out my visor is buggered and is 60 quid for a new one

V sponges are good for visors: https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorc ... rod/212517
(although it turns out you can buy a 5 pack of micro sponges, which seem to be the same thing, on eBay for about 2 quid.)
