hi has anyone ever fitted a 16 tooth front sprocket? any advice would be appreciated

Well in my humble opinion, you can't go too small on the front or too big on the back. The DRZ (especially the 'E' model) is a proper wheelie machine set up right.

HOWEVER... obviously there are some good compromise combinations that work better for a mixture of fuel economy, cruising speed and gnarly single track. There is LOADS of advice on this on the DRZ part of Thumpertalk.

I have done it on an S model, it is a while ago now, a tight fit but worked OK.

It may be more practical going for a smaller rear sprocket and dropping a link from the chain?
