What are you trying to do Bob? Get it to calc a route to a place , city centre, etc or show a gpx route from its memory which you have sent it? The Garmin menus are a nightmare to get your head around I spent many a swearing session prodding the dam thing.

Bring up map
Three bars right bottom corner
Set up map
Orientation select Automotive mode
Underap information select map
Choose the appropriate mapping you have installed look for that city navigator that Russ gave select that.
Back arrow to start.
They are very good units can take some time to get used to.
Use you profiles for different maps and activities
Hope this helps
Otherwise ACP is the man

Well I think it now sorted , after many hours playing around with the dam thing I eventually found in route settings that the thing was set for straight line not motorcycle route , changed the setting and it works , so thanks to all for your help. :D

On mine I have set up "profiles"
1_ is car and uses fastest route on city navigator
2_is motorcycle and uses shortest route on city navigator
3_is off road and uses Garmin discovery

They can be a real pain to navigate around sometimes but when you get used to it a great unit.
