they look good possibly. corner radii a little small perhaps, as far forward as is possible I presume they are designed for solo rideing in which case looks possible there may be room to move a little, vertical mounting is a compromise c of g/ground clearance bare in mind the potential "flop" from straps etc. Dry mounting your luggage is the ideal of course. Have you thought of mounting anything on the "inside" of your plate spare brake lever,tyre levers etc. look forward to seeing the finished article in Llandoverey or similar one day.

That's a great effort, but you really need to have a bigger radius on those corners - use a tin of beans or something to mark the corner and cut/file to shape.

Very frustratingly the chap who did the powder coating said he new someone who could laser cut at a reasonable rate... Doh

But if you don’t look too close they look okay so will do for now

Yes they did look good - the words did.

As it turns out 4mm thick ally isnt very strong when the bike lands on it in a river bed..

straightened out okay too, powder coating survived mostly intact even through the straightening. I do think it probably protected the bike well as well.
