ANYONE HELP ME KTM LC4 E 640
GOT A KTM LC4 TODAY TOOK IT TO PEICES STRIPPED THE HOLE BIKE APART THEN STARTED TO LOOK AT THE ENGINE AND ON INSPECTION OF TAKING THE COVERS OF THE ENGINE AT THE CAMSHAFT THERES A CLIP WHAT LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULDNT BE LOOSE AND SHOULD BE INPLACE TO HOLD IT ALL FIRM INSTEAD OF HOW MINE IS SEE VIDEO . NOW I NOTICE THERE IS A CLIP ON THE SIDE WHICH WILL GO IN TO THE CAM BUT BY THE LOOKS OF IT THE ENDS HAVE SNAPPED OFF OR IS THAT RIGHT THERE JUST FLAT ENDS WITH NO LOOPS TO GRAB WITH THE PLIERS ....

Not familiar with that model but i had a 450 exc. So that end bearing on the left of video that sits on the end of the cam shouldn't be so loose. It's most likely a wore cam end. You could bodge it by pock marking the cam journal...... unless it's a plain bearing design and runs on a oil film which will then ruin it lol! Just behind the cam sprocket does that ring fit into the slot on head to hold bearing/cam in place? Hard to make out.

Just looked at it again and I'm sure that loose ring fits into the slot by bearing that I can see which will stop everything moving about.

At 33 seconds, its clear to see the groove that the lose clip should sit in to keep everything in place. You've got less movement in the auto-decompressor than I found on mine.
Current bike is a Yamaha T7
