Hi
A guy in Italy is selling a Dakar Honda Dominator rally kit for 300 Euros on a Facebook forum, which I fancy buying for my bike;
The issue is he wants me to send him 300 Euros via PayPal.
Now, I don't know if he is genuine or some Nigerian Hacker with some nice photos.
Does anyone know if PayPal covers you if the goods don't arrive?
I phoned PayPal and asked and they seemed to suggest that as long as I ticked the Goods & Services box, I was covered
Cheers.

Re: PayPal security
That is the way i understand it, if you go 'goods & services' the seller will be charged a fee from PP for selling.
You should then be protected. If they ask for pay by 'friends & family' (no fee to seller) I would be suspicious.
F &F is usually ok on a forum where there is mutual trust and generally in the same country, although even this can go occasionally wrong.
Usually plenty of research and your gut feeling are wise.

Best of luck, that's a cracking bike (apart from the top box).

Re: PayPal security
You are not covered for goods and services or friends and family. Only if the item is via ebay hence with a paper trail.
I found out the hard way.

Re: PayPal security
It’s not just eBay purchases that they cover. You do need a n offer and acceptance, these should be written so you can provide them to PayPal if you raise a dispute. I have the send Paypal to refund a second hand Almax chain sand lock that two week to arrive and when it did there were no keys with it. As the seller had stated that he would send it the following day after payment via 48 hr delivery and completely failed to do so Paypal perused the seller for payment due to not complying with the terms of the sale. The seller protested, refused to refund until Paypal informed they would pay for the return of the item, refund me in full and pursue the seller for all costs. It took about 6 weeks to complete and eBay couldn’t have been more helpful. The sale had initially been advertised through a forum, then private messages and emails.Helicoptermanr22 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 8:41 pm You are not covered for goods and services or friends and family. As the seller you can also send the buyer an invoice through Paypal. As already mentioned do not send family and friends payment as you have no protection.
