Panasonic tough book

Post by captinktm »

This may be useful to some one. I bought a s/h Panasonic tough book for use on me travels and have fitted a gps module. It took a while to get in working and in the end had to take it for a drive. I then found Mapsphere http://www.mapsphere.com/ which works really well with it. The maps are some of the best I have found on the net for this end of the world. It all works more or less like my Garmin montana with the rolling map and trackup . You can upload gpx file from another gps as well. So all in all I am coughed.
Question as anyone used one of these laptop to navigate on their bikes? The reason I want to, is you get to see a larger area, if you do this on a normal gps obviously you loose detail and I for one can't read it. So I want to mount it in the tank bag? Or something like that.

Sounds interesting, you going to power it off the bike?
