Post by mikeXTZ »

Hi guys, i am looking for another speedo for a ttr 250. Anyone had any experience with Trailtech Endurance 11 and also KOSO BB EX2. Anything else available at around the same price £80 ish. Has anyone used cheapo £25 ones off the bay? any info appreciated.

If its just a speedo you need then a cycle one will do it. They usually come calibrated for a 21 inch wheel which is rather handy. Has Steve not got one at Totally TTRs?

Mike . I bought a cheepo from Halfords .. worked fine on my crf230
it had a pickup on the forks and a sender on the spokes. wired to the small readout clipped to bars.
it was wired I think, the ones shown now are wireless?

Used a wireless cycle speedo on a Triumph twin and it was very sensitive to location seemed to be picking up ignition noise even with suppressors, a wired one was better (usable). Used the wireless one as a clock on another bike and no problem with time keeping but did not set up the speed sensor.
some cycle ones only go up to about 100kph (60mph) but it normally says on the spec sheet so check

I have one of these Koso ones on my bike.

Seems to work fine. Can set the speedo several different ways, rev counter, idiot lights, indicators and even, I think, a fuel gauge.

I also tried wireless on a Triumph twin, worked great unless the engine was running! I now use, with a mount on the Triumph and one on my CRF230, a Garmin Edge 200. Its a posh cycle speedo which works on GPS. The battery is rechargable, lasts for ages, it also records the route which you can look up when you plug it into your laptop. So GPS, no wires or magnets, bigger readout than normal cycle speedos, about £70.00.
