As I said ... one reason, but you are right as in the case of the Spitfire there were other reasons as well.

There may be a fire risk but it is low and comparing a motorbike on the ground that you can stop and get off pretty quickly to being strapped into an aircraft in the sky, the risks are vastly different. Personally I would be more concerned about the fuel tank sat on top of a hot engine.
I have no worries of what is inside my cooling system, my only concern is that it can efficiently cool a big V-Twin, which using Putoline Ice Cooler does that whilst providing corrosion and freezing protection. I wouldn't go back to using a standard anti-freeze.
