CCM stuck in Dubrovnik

Post by RichP »

Three of us are on a trip around the Balkans. One of the bikes, a CCM GP450 has developed a charging fault. A couple of days ago the warning light came on on the heated grips controller and the Garmin Montana warned of low battery. When we stopped the bikes battery was flat. We stripped the front of the bike down and found some broken wires to the power distribution unit. We swapped batteries with another CCM to ensure the battery was Ok. Unfortunately the problem hasn't been sorted and we are obviously limited as to what we can check. Has anyone had a similar issue or can suggest where to look? Cheers Rich

Cheers Tramp There's a bmw dealer in Split, we'll try them. We've disconnected anything we can electrical wise.

A selection of wiring diagrams are in the files section on the FB page. Could be worth giving the factory a call too. They may help with diagnosis.
Also some links to wiring diagrams on the Advrider.com pages (/thumpers/ CCM Gp450).
Just along for the ride.

Hi Paul Thanks for the tip. Factory have offered to send a stator out but we're not sure if that's the problem. We disconnected the headlight and not used anything else electrical and the bike has held up. We've ridden the trails in Bosnia today and everything is OK. Tomorrow we are back in Croatia, hopefully the bike will carry on behaving itself.
