UK supplier for Suzuki DR650 Carb kit??

Post by Andi_Archer »

Anybody know a UK supplier for a carb refurb kit 2005 Suzuki DR650.I jst got a used one and it looks like someone has done a mod by cutting out the top of the air filter box [to a fashion] and I assume changing the jets as it now has an adjustable mix screw as per youtube videos. The trouble is to run anywhere near normal I have to keep the choke on and even then its still backfiring down the exhaust on deceleration but not as bad as without the choke.

Thanks bud I did check through their site but they don't seem to have the complete refurb kit only the rubbers unless I'm missing something.

There website is a bit shit, I couldn't find the bits needed for my xt, ended up posting the carb & letting them rebuild it, came back like new & ran lovely, give them a ring Andi.

Tape the hole up on the top of the airbox and see if it runs better.

Yes I did have that thought and was going to try it tomorrow, they sorta hacked the sh1t out of the airbox. If I run with choke out it runs sorta better but still not right and the mix adjuster is quite a long way out so it may be they have the wrong jets installed as the youtube videos say 2 to 21/2 turns.
I did try turning the fuel mix adjuster in on tick over but it just bogs down and stalls even with choke out.

I always use these guys .http://www.motocarb.com/ or http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/shop/ Allens website might not be as helpful but you are better off giving them a call. Both companies know their stuff and have helped me sort out a couple of bikes with good advice and sales.
