A little late in replying, but just in case anyone else has a similar issue and stumbles a toss this post, thought I'd update.

On the advice of my local mechanic who used to have a Transalp, I changed my oil back to semi synthetic (castrol), and ran it for 100 miles or so. I then changed the oil again, and filter to ensure as much of the old fully synthetic was flushed out.

Since then I've done over 3000 miles, much heavier loaded with all camp gear etc for 3 weeks, all over the alps. I didn't experience any problems with the clutch at all in that time.

I would suggest from my experience that fully synthetic is not suitable for the Transalp 650. At least not for mine.
