I know it's been done to death but I need new tyres ( or should I say my bike needs new tyres)
My 2013 f800gs currently has anakee 3's but I want something more capable for light off roading.
I have done loads of searching but what do others recommend?
Anyone used Heidenhain K60. Any good?
Cheers
Richard

Mitas E07. Very capable on road and off road, except in deep mud. Cheap as well. (thumbs)
Re: Let's talk tyres
On my CCM I had the Heidenau K60s originally. They were great on road all through the winter, good on dry trails, I found they slid a bit on wet leaves and mud. I changed them at about 4,500 miles as I was going to do the Taffy Dakar and did not think they would cope. I would probably have got about another 500 - 1000 miles road use out of the rear. I would be interested to know what mileage people get out of the E07s. Another similar compromise tyre to the Heidenau is the Sava Rockrider, very similar riding experience to the K60 s but a bit more miles out of them. That was on a GS650

Re: Let's talk tyres
I had TKC70 on my 1200 GSA and thought they did a good 80/20 road/off-road job. Have TKC80 now on my KTM. Usual compromise, better off road than 70, worse on road. Depends where you go and what you want to achieve. The 80 comes with a 100mph max sticker. Anything relatively sensible on road can be achieved with the 80. Both good and can recommend.

That's a very interesting parking spot you chose there mate , how did you manage that ??
I have ordered a set of Mitas E07, £121 delivered for the pair. I will give them a go then try the Karoo's.

E 09 rear nd MT21 front work for me on most bikes that I've tried them on. I've found thesetyres work well even on wet trails. Dakar E 09is more slippery on wet roads. All these sort of tyres lose grip off road once the blocks round of.

Well it's a short story but after watching a 690 and dr fall off up a hill climb I could resist other than to show the two of them how it's done..wispyone wrote:Cone wrote:Just got Karoo 3s on my f800 ridden 2000 miles plus and the tyre still look round really capable off road

I mean falling off spectacularly whilst going up hill.
