I would be rather p****d off if that happened.
As you say bikes do fall over and I would expect not to be needing a new pannier after a fall over as opposed to a drop.
Looks like a cheap way of making them but the plastic parts are disposable. Repair kits??

Yes I was. Extremely. Givi couldn't have shown less concern in my opinion.
No repair, no spares, nothing.
I'm not a greedy over expectant person and these guys made me feel rude for bothering them with my "dear givi, are you sure this should have happened" query, which soon turned into I want my money back as the really aren't fit for purpose.
Don't regret many things in life and I wish I'd waited for the touratech bits to come out for the AT.

They look like they are made to look the part rather than perform the part...
Thanks for the heads up.
Cheap as chips construction, sold at high mark-up.

yeah they really do look amazing.
On closer inspection (which I should have thought through a lot more, the connection system is so complicated compared to touratech and did not suffer well when even slightly twisted out of shape. The metal panels appear to be fixed together with plastic conncection brackets - I dont see how that is a good thing when I believe those parts are not replaceable.
Damn shame when you consider the price.
If you are at the ABR weekend this fri sat sun look me up im on red white Africa Twin DCT - i'll have a burnt balding heed with a north east accent :)

When I needed a spare key for a Givi top box, Givi could not have been less helpful.
I got one cut on a blank supplied by my local locksmith in the end.

their attitude was appalling.
Please think carefully before buying these Givi Outback Trekker boxes.
If anyone wants to see them and what happens if you roll your bike over when stationary, come find me at the ABR meeting this weekend!

If you look at some of the designs they could be very simple to make out of flat plate. But a pannier that becomes useless in a small drop over is not good. I use plastic ones and they have taken a lot of abuse and a few knocks along the way but still do what they were meant to. I have looked at others but keep thinking why spend the money.
