Can anyone give me some advice please. I'm on a trip shortly and was planning to use my din to usb to charge devices. I replaced what I thought to be a dodgy din to USB with a new one but it turns out my din socket is the issue. I guess it's just corroded and not making a good connection. I have tried wire wool. Wd40 but I cant make it connect well.
Any advise?
Din connectors
Re: Din connectors
Not trying to be blunt but buy a new socket they're only a few quid and should be easy to change.
Once the original surface is perforated it's on the way out
Replace it before the trip while it's easy

Re: Din connectors
I had one on the R1200 GS I purchased and after taking it off to test with a meter I found the outer contact had a thin layer of corrosion over it.I just needed to clean it up with some abrasive paper.

Re: Din connectors
I had to pick one up at the HUBB as i lost my one . I am in Caerphilly if you want to pop over we could give it ago . Also have a multi meter to check if you have power to your outlet .
PM me if this might help .

Yes I know I have power as wiggling the din-USB brings on the blue light so it works. It's just internal corrosion I'm struggling to clean.
The connector is a micro clip in type in the BMW can bus I'd rather not cut it off..
