Cheers guys. It was an air-lock problem and thankfully all sorted this morning! Nice one. Shaun.

Glad to hear it's sorted Shaun. I've just got a 990 myself, are we saying this airlock problem can be caused when topping up from a particular place?

Have a look at the ktm info link previously posted that's a good read for anyone with a 950/990

You still have a problem though. If after months of riding and not using any water, you have suddenly lost so much water that when you top it up, it creates an airlock, the reason for the leak still needs investigation.
Current bike is a Yamaha T7

To get rid of the air lock, put the bike on the sidestand, stand to the left of the bike and lean it towards you so the front wheel is well in the air, then reach over and squeeze the r/h rad hose repeatedly.
