E07 problem

Post by diggermanbob »

Hi has anyone ever had a problem getting a new mittas e07 to sit square on the rim , I fitted the new tyre on my XT660rim no problem , I have fitted literally hundreds of tyres from bikes to tractors , diggers dumpers and never had a tyre that won't come fully on to the rim , using plenty of lube , I've pushed the tyre off the rim turned it and tried and tried and the bar steward won't pump out on to the bead square , any ideas please , if not I will take it back off and fit the new CO2 that's hanging in the garage and someone is going to have a very cheap tyre !!!!!

It's a new tyre so not hardened , I think I will put a bit of pressure in it and go for a ride up the stone track opposite my place maybe that will sort it , as for the front I have a choice army 644 or eo9

I reckon it will wobble like hell , I'm going to try riding it on low pressure up the track and see if that helps !!!

I had fun with the last E07 too. I had to faff for quite a while before I was happy with it on the rim. I repeatedly bounced it from a great height I seem to recall.
The secret of a long life is knowing when its time to go.

I had real problems fitting a 150 to the KTM rear, not matter what I tried couldn't get it seat, I think I must of had it up to 70psi and still had a section about 6 inches long that wouldn't seat.

I had enough was going to take it to garage to use the machine there dropped the wheel in HUFF, and blow me if it didn't suddenly pop on with a huge bang I very nearly pooed my pants. I thought the tyre had burst.
But at least it was seated. B)
