anakee 2 are amazing tyres, im on my 5th set, they were discontinued when the anakee 3 came out. but so many people complained including me to michelin, they re introduced it. best tyre out there 100% (thumbs)

I'm on my first set and bit over 1000 miles so don't have long experience with them but I like the way they grip, wear and cost. I put them on by myself, they maybe a bit harder then regular tyres but definitely doable on your own. Actually I prefer stiffer tyres because sometimes you can limb slowly with puncture.

If you want to see how they managed longer adv trip (7k km) watch Motonomad, they used dakar version on ktm 500exc there and had plenty of punctures.

On my Transalp I find the Heidenau K60 front and rear works well.
They will even let me get over far enough to scrape my boot with
feet still on the footpeg. No problems on forest tracks or tractor
trails up the side of mountains. They don't like diseasel in round
abouts though... :S

I had a set of Anakee 2s fitted to my 800GS and loved them - did everything that I wanted and lasted a good long time. I am now running TKC70s, which seem better off road but a bit more squirrely when the road is wet. Not had them long enough to know about wear rate.

I've used TKC80s for the last five years for my rides to the Pyrenees and they've been excellent on the road and can't really fault them off road ether - although I haven't had to deal with with much mud whilst down there.

This year I'm tempted to try the Anakee Wilds. However, no one has confirmed if they're as good on the road as TKCs. I wouldn't have any hesitation fast cornering with the TKCs even in the wet.

Can anyone (Dave H?) share their experience on the twisties with the Wilds?

Wilds perfectly fine on tarmac. Hard to tell difference between them and tkc80s in the corners. Very stable at high speeds, or so I've found. Got over 5000 to a rear on my lc 1200 GS so happy with wear rates.
