Jump start pack thingys

Post by Mike101 »

With the ongoing electrical issues on my RT I want to carry a small jump start pack.

I know some of you out there have these but which do you all suggest.

This won't be used to turn over a bike with a flat battery but to give a small kick as the RT has a problem where the voltage can drop on starting to 9v sometimes.

I have one of these:

Seems to work fine. Used it a number of times before replacing the battery on my GSA

Cheers

Personnelly I have a 50 amp Anderson plug (about the size of a matchbox) connected via a lead to the battery and tucked up under the seat fairing on the triumph which I can reach behind the seat fairing to access it. I also have a pair of bike jump leads in the top case with a pair of similar 50a Anderson plugs fitted 6"-8" from 1 end if the jump leads. Which means I can jumpstart the bike from a suitable car battery without the need to unpack the bike (lomo bags off the pillion etc).

I bought the one that WEMOTO sell. About £60.
We had to use it and it started the bike absolutely fine.
I would recommend it from my limited experience of it.

Fingers crossed that it'love not be needed again!!

I have a cobra jump pak. Amazing thing. We even started a landcruiser 80 series with it which had flat dual batteries.

I picked one up for my trip around Ireland with Nikoli, thankfully didn't need it so its not been tested in anger, yet.

All I can say is its a 8000mA pack apparently and the "2A" usb outlet is not 2A but its got pretty good reviews and is probably am unregulated supply to the jump leads so should be fine for a bike battery, in theory, time will tell
