A plea to the forum.
I'm supposed to leave for Ireland on Saturday morning and I've just got to work to find smoke pouring from the regulator on my bike.
Does anyone have a regulator for an F650 Funduro kicking around that I could grab tomorrow so I can still make the trip!?
Major emergency help needed!!
Re: Major emergency help needed!!
is it a rectifier? if you have a second bike of friends one of a bigger cc, or just call all the shops around, it should be easy to rewire them.
there is nothing special with regulators on bikes, just different mounting holes and the amount of power they can cope to piss away (hence any bigger bike replacement is a safe option).
I've got one quite powerful regulator in my toolbox of some old triumph, just kicking around for the emergencies like these.

yep.
google gave me this picture
so the left three pin connector are yellow wires on general reg/rec, and on the right connector (+) is red wire and (-) is black wire.
usually with a small screw driver you can pop out the old wires from the old connectors and just pop in the new ones without fucking up the harness.
good luck (thumbs)

Connect any wire to any pin? Are they all common or is it three phase?

And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

connectors are just connectors - there are three wires coming from your alternator, they are connected to three yellow wires of reg/rec in any order. and then the red/black wire from your new reg rec, you connect to the harness feed to battery. just make sure not to mix up the polarity.Nicoli wrote:Yeah mine has different connectors to the one in the pic
