Teach me how to change tyres?
How do boys, anyone from around Dudley area fancy helping me change some tyres. Theyre to go on my dommie, swapping from tubeless road tyres to some mitas's but I've never changed any before and wouldn't mind a bit of tuition

Re: Teach me how to change tyres?
you will need some good levers [3] buzeti are very good
http://www.adventure-spec.com/default/t ... -of-3.html
a can of wd40 and possibly some disc brake cleaner..
a old camping matt or bit of carpet to lie wheel on..
a valve puller..excellent bit of kit..acts as a valve removal tool and makes putting new tubes in a doddle..
http://www.24mx.co.uk/proworks-air-valv ... wwody7kA2A
a puncture repair kit and a 21 new tube -can be used front and back..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WELDTITE-CURE ... 9368&rt=nc
sorry im not nearer...leave the new tyres in the sun and a good compressor and with mitas tyres a lot of patience seating them..
when old tyre removed clean the inner rim with sand paper and unless the rim tape is new use some cheap stikey tape twice round the rim and pock a hole for the valve..also inspect the spindles..

As Tramp says
You can also look on YouTube there are some very hood tutorial videos on there.
Bear in mind if you have ever fixed a puncture on a bicycle it is much the same principle only on a grander scale.
Give it a go on your own the satisfaction will outweigh all the scrapped knuckles and swearing

I'd be glad to help, but we're a few miles apart, I'm near Warwick.Mad Hatter wrote:How do boys, anyone from around Dudley area fancy helping me change some tyres. Here's a trick I use..... run about six wraps of insulation tape tightly around the teeth on the sprocket. It's just enough to take the edge off should you slip.zimtim wrote:Give it a go on your own the satisfaction will outweigh all the scrapped knuckles and swearing

Top tip - wear leather gloves. Also use a swear box, each tire will then pay for a future holiday...
