Garmin 60csx More Help PLEASE

Just purchased a set of Garmin UK OS maps on a micro SD card. Placed it in the Garmin 60CSx GPS receiver and no maps are found or shown other than the installed marine map. When you go to the system/menu/card info it states 83% full and under "maps" it shows 3141.2mb of maps so there must be maps there, just the unit is not seeing them. When I put the Micro SD card in an adaptor and load straight on to laptop then the map files are shown as a .img take it that's an image file and it will not open in mapsource or the garmin file. I have saved it and it shows an image file size 3,216,516 kb, but again I can't open it. I run MS Vista on the lap top. If this makes sense to any one who can help then I would be very greatfull. I thought it would just be plug and play.

Create a folder on your micro sd card called Garmin and place your .img file in there. (thumbs)

Adrian, thank you for the reply but the .img file is already in a folder named Garmin on the micro sd card. Any other ideas?

Is the file named gmapsupp.img ?

If not rename it so

If the map.works in basecamp it will work in any garmin sat nav...but it needs to be activated on the satnav map menu lol..not sure how to do it on the c60 but loads on the net about it with vids to.do it..

Did you try to update the unit yet?

The 60csx can only read a maximum map size of 2gb = +/- 2000 mb. In Mapsource or Basecamp only highlight this maximum amount of map data and load that.
