S10 Top Speed

Post by xengibez »

Cheeky quick twist of the wrist and saw 132 mph come up on the speedo, that seemed about the limit, and even with the givi outback top box on it was stable right through to that top speed.

Always nice to know what a bike will do.. :-)

That's not bad, I just wonder if the S10 speedo is as optimistic as the 660's
I can just about ring 130mph out of my GSA.

The speedo on my S10 is about 8% optimistic

So probably an actual 120.. Next time I get a clear run I'll see what it's out at 100 mph against a GPS.

I saw 184 on the fireblade once but I'm more than happy with the big girls performance, she got there pretty sharpish and as I said felt very solid and would it provably have sat there happily...

Slightly off topic but I removed the clutch mod the other day and instantly became under whelmed by the bike, but read the clutch mod isn't best for the engine.

Dam private roads Nigel, they don't make long ones that's for sure....
If you know a longer one I can test on please let me know.. ;-)

Pretty much anywhere north of Perth if not on the A9! :P
Personally, my favourite is Garve to Achnasheen for speed testing...about five miles of fast sweepers just to get your tyres warmed up before ten miles flat out!!! (thumbs)

That's virtually the same as mine, so if most bikes are out by (for easy reckoning) 10%, that means when you buy a second hand bike with 30k on the clock, in reality, it's 3000 miles "younger" not insignificant.
