+1 for Anakee 3. They're brilliant and can show a sports bike a clean pair of heels on a twisty road! (thumbs)

For me it's got to be Tourances. :)

Wet or dry they have never been upset by the conditions. My centre stand says it all :)

I get about 8k out of the back, and if I hang on a bit I'll get 15k out of the front. So I try to make it 2 to 1 and change as a pair every 2nd fitting.

If I'm planing on going away fo a few weeks I'll change them as a pair if there gritting low.

Cheers Dave.

I have just got 3.5K from a rear Anakee 3 and 5K out of a rear Tourance next,on a GS1200 I am off to get some PR4 Trails fitted in the morning, if there anything like the PR3 I had on last year they will last longer than the Anakee or the Tourance, as well as giving much better grip especially in the wet.
Will let you know in couple of month's how there lasting B) the PR3 was also a lot quieter

Unfortunately the answers won't mean much because tyre wear depends a lot on the way you ride.

Riden hard it's easy to wear a tyre out in 3,000 miles. The same tyre with careful riding could easily last 10,000+ miles.

PR3's do last well, I got 5K out of my last one on a 640SM and that could get rid of a tyre in 800 miles. I only changed it because the sides had worn the tread off, the middle was still legal.
I know it's not quite the same as a 1200GS but they are good if you can get the sizes.

I would be looking for the best tyre for what you want to do with the bike, no point fitting a semi knobblie if you are only going to be road riding or fitting slicks if only going offroad.
For me the Tourance (not EXP or Next) is the best tyre for the use I have for the bike. 6k miles and the rear is squared off from 2up camping trips but I can usually make it last 10k before being illegal or unpredictable. A front will go for another 3 or 4k but I usually change as a pair.
