Michelin Anakee 3 Tyres

Post by MarkN »

I've always been a big fan of Michelin tyres and after my last set of Anakee 2's lasting 12,000 miles I thought it was time to try their new Anakee 3 tyres.

So, having just had the bike's 24K mile service, I had the 3's put on by Woolbridge Motorcycles yesterday.

The tread pattern looks completely different to anything I've seen on a big adventure big. After doing about 100 miles yesterday I can say that early impressions are good.

Here's a few pictures of them.

They seem to have grooves within the grooves!

Thanks for the write up thinking of trying these when my 2`s wear out.
Only get about 8,000 - 9,000 on 2`s and then bottle it and renew them and front wears as quick as rear  but the wet grip is awesome and I totally trust them.

Got them on my GSA and after 1000 miles in all weathers I am impressed.

Michelin state they are 90% road and 10% off-road and should be good for an extra 20% wear rate over the 2's

Time will tell.

Currently watching some 2's at £190 and 3's for £200 on ebay, and that includes delivery.

I only paid a tad more than that for a supply and fit with a voucher to claim £25 worth of fuel back from michelin

Just a bit of an update.

I did over 1000 miles this weekend going to the ABR Rally in Ireland. The ride up through Wales was very wet on Thursday and we a lot of rain over the weekend but the tyres were brilliant on road, so sliding around and always felt as though they were in control in the corners etc.

The only downside is that they didn't have any grip on the wet, soaked field on the camp site and I needed a push to get out of the field.
