When I first got my XT660z it did 180 miles till the reserve bar started flashing. After taking out the cat it went up to 215 miles and now since the third service and the fitting of a iridium plug it went up again to about 240 on my last tank but I was taking it easy on the back roads and trails. I can push it on reserve as it has such a large tank so last week I did 310 miles and still only got 21.8 liters in! 66 mpg.

My Ulysses (which is currently sitting in a KTM dealership was a trade-in for my impending 990 Adventure) managed 60mpg and certainly no less than 53 when spanked hard.

I expect the Katoom to be a little thirstier

There are owners out there (on the KTM forums) who claim to average over 50mpg on these bikes.

From what I understand, the problem is that the KTM just begs to be horse-whipped and hooned around, preferably with a set of Akros. I'll be sticking to the standard tune with standard cans and use my restrained, mature, sensible riding style wherever possible  :pinch: .

I was getting that on my 2006 955i Tiger (28K miles). would it be reasonable to expect a little more from the Trannie?
