Having run Mitas E09 Dakars of my F658GS for the Paddy Dakar last year, I'm putting a TKC80 on the front and another E09 on the rear for my run on the Taffy Dakar in April.
I'm hoping the wear rate of the TKC front is better than the E09 - fubbard after 2.5k miles.
Just my mutterings

Re: continental tkc80 twinduro
Went out for the first time in the mud on the tkc’s shocked at how bad they were. I even got stuck and couldn’t drive up a small hill.
So as a result I have some new tyres coming and a set of part worn tkcs going cheap. The front has a good amount of life left in it. The rear is legal but not cleaning very well

Twinduros last about 2k on a 690 an arent really great on or off road, the Mitas E07 last me nearly twice that and aren't much worse off road on the back
E07 on back and TKC on front looks odd but isn't a bad combo for 50/50 stuff

Did I mention they do actually seem to work well on the rocky sections, there was one trail I did lovely rocky climb but when I breached the top it turned into a muddy rut and the front end just disappeared sending me into a hedge... but it was a lovely trail near Abergavenny!HedgeHopper wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 12:25 pm Twinduros last about 2k on a 690 an arent really great on or off road, the Mitas E07 last me nearly twice that and aren't much worse off road on the back

As you've found out they aren't to good in mud, I've currently got an 80 on the front and a Mitas rockrider on the back. After initially scrub in the rockrider is reasonably good on the road, it does start to slide sooner than the tkc front but is pradicatable and I was pushing on. The Rockrider got me through some reasonable bogs a couple of weeks ago too so ok in mud, not as good on rock as say a Maxxis IT pro but acceptable. No idea about mileage yet though.

Re: continental tkc80 twinduro
Just back for my recent trip to morocco and i used tkc twinduro tyres on my ktm 690 in with we done close to 3000 ks both on and off road 50/50 i would say and i have to say i could not fault them so i would say go for them you will not be sorry
Re: continental tkc80 twinduro
I couldn't agree more, if you like them go for them. But I bet you didn't get much wet loamy clay or deep squigy mud in Morroco or the way back through Spain. I do say on dry roads they feel like a decent road tyre, but as soon as the road is wet I always felt like I was on the edge in every corner. In mud they just feel awful and wash out at every opportunity. So I guess it depends on where and when you intend to use them.
My Tkc'c have loads of life left in them and ive don 3500 miles on them so they are a good lasting nobly.
