Video of a few days on the Welsh TET

Post by Jersey87 »

Hi all

Hopefully this link will work for a video I've put together of a trip me and Mad Hatter did last May. :D

Cheers

Excellent, warts and all.

Can I ask which part is this?

We met up in Gloucester and went as far as the lanes just north of Machynlleth.

Decided against a couple of short lanes (can't remember where exactly) as they were either too rutted/washed out or didn't look all that kosher. :?

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) I didn't use the GoPro much on one of the days - which happened to include a couple of very muddy climbs that had me in a fair bit of difficulty and required a couple of stops to catch our breath due to picking up the GS so much!

Also threw in a run alongside Claerwen Reservoir which isn't on the TET route.

What cam did you use for these shots? Why not use the GoPro, was it that you had it mounted in a vulnerable position?

I have been following "Itchy Boots" on YouTube. She uses a GoPro 7 Black and am impressed with the quality.

Sorry, what I meant by that comment was that it was a shame I hadn't been using it as there would have been a lot more footage of my bike (and at times me) lying on the floor

I was using a GoPro Hero 4 for filming. I'd like the quality to be a bit better but I assume that would require a combination of a newer model (of GoPro) and better editing program.

How long did your ride on that bit of the TET take ?
I live near Brecon so where it loops near Llanidloes is about an hour North by road and the southern bit is an hour-ish away by road.
If I started up near Llanidloes how far should I get before it got dark ???

We were in Wales over 4 days but the last day only really consisted of the track above Machynlleth where we climbed up and then had second thoughts as it had been raining pretty steady for a couple of days and we didn't fancy having to drag the GS about in the mud when we still had to ride home that afternoon (to Wolverhampton and Taunton)!

I'd say to aim for a full day from Llandiloes to Brecon - riding at a steady pace and stopping for obligatory coffee and cakes as I would. :D

Thanks for the video. Looked like a lot of fun. Great tracks! Guess I have to come over to the island and do some of the TET. 8-)
