EDC Day Ride to Lac de Cap-de-Long, French Pyrénées.

Sunday past, as it was 30c and clear I decided to go and check to see if the route mentioned has been opened after the winter snow. I guess it should be as Col d'Aubisque had opened.
Find the Lac de Cap-de-Long dam car park at
N 42 49 170
E 000 08 492
Junction co-ords to turn off to head for the lakes. Theres a bar/cafe here with parking.
N 42 47 440
E 000 13 664
I decided to make it a day loop which would see it finish at 430kms. Rather than ride over Col du Soulor I'd take the route through Lourdes to Bagneres de Bigorre to Col d'Aspin for the first leg.
Arrive at the summit for a break and to take the views in along with lots of other riders who were out for a Sunday ride.
Drop down to Arreau and to St-Lary-Soulan to buy sandwiches in the supermarket for lunch and then on to Fabian and to the lakes.
Take the D929 and ride the single vehicle width twisties to arrive at he first lake dam .
After a picnic I rode on up to the next dam......
From here I'll ride down and past the first lake I visited and ride on up to the remaining lakes.
I spy the moto of an acquaintance, Didier, that I often meet whilst out riding.
Another lake in the background.
From here ride back down and turn right to head to Spain via the Bielsa tunnel.
Arrive at Escalona and turn right to head along the twisties to Hoz de Jaca .
Vultures
Viewpoint with parking
There's a zip line at Hoz de Jaca...18 euros a go.. They were putting up a gantry for a light show I think ?
From here to Col d'Aubisque to Col de Soulor and back.
Home for a wash and a beer thereafter!!!
