Great review on a great wee bike.
I've both a similar to this modded 1980s honda z50 and an msx which are fun.

I rode a monkey bike just once - in the paddock at Donington Park! Think it was a Honda Dax. What a laugh. Brilliant little things.

Sounds like you had a blast. They look like fun, but they're just too expensive. And 70 mph with 11 miles on the clock!?!

Just out of interest was that 70mph indicated on the speedo or GPS. I only ask as I had a CB125f which would indicate 70 and be barely past 60mph.

It was 72 mph!! Well, something like that. Indicated on the speedo so no real idea of the true speed.

Mac - the photos were just with my phone! I actually had my camera with me but I was getting good results with my phone and it would have been a pain in the arse to get the Nikon out my backpack. Lazy, I know.
