Nice write up Phil, I'm hoping to get a few days in France on the way back from Spain in early October assuming me and the bike survives the COCK.

Bit more road work , well single track running along the river side which brought me to this in Saint Cyprien

Image20190224_132107 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Its only a foot bridge now so wasn't allowed to cross , but the GR went the other way

Image20190224_132120 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

The GR64 forked around here and i took the GR36 up into Saint Cyprien ......well thats where i was ment to go but it was market day and the centre was closed to traffic so another little loop.

Pass this derelict Chateau leaving town , its all to common out here to see everything from chateaux to small houses just left to rot , this place had its own church aswell , tried finding some info about it , but nothing maybe need to talk to the locals

Back on track ;)

First mud !!! only a foot or so deep and 30yards or so long

Image20190224_140434 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

So much variety of ground here to , this red stuff is sort of sandy clay , bloody awful when wet and rutts up easy

Image20190224_140728 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

And now on black/grey sand

Yet anothe Chateau ...............come to think of it there's a lot of these at junction of GR.....makes sence after all they were major road long ago

Image20190224_144609 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

All day i'd been meeting Chasseurs all dressing in "ORANGE" so felt like part of the gang  saves getting shot aswell ;)

There's no annimosity , all bonjours and smiles as i pass , but due to them i was always on high alert for a 4x4 coming the other way, here you can see the tracks....................yes they come through smaller than that

Back on open trials

Image20190224_151545 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Again came to a GR junction , i left the 36 and joined the GR6 , you gotta take your hat off to the French for signing all these trails :)

Could have done it easy on the Donk , 2 or 3 tough bits but mostly free flowing trail , only took the 400 as on my own if it went tits it'd be easier to move/lift

We can defo do that loop Bob but the bust casing loop is far better

I love that route. Top left is St Leon sur Vezere and I love the municipal camp site there and go down for 3 weeks at a time.

Domme, Sarlat, Beynac, St Cyprien, to name just a few, Rouffignac and the Grotte de Rouffignac.....

You will never have too much of this area......
