Gathered with a few like minded individuals up at a campsite near Achiltibui to remember an old freind who sadly passed earlier this year.
The campsite we used was his favourite one in all of Scotland, so it was fitting that we paid our respects to him there.
Here is the view of the Summer Isles as you approach the campsite from the northern approach
A few piccies of the bikes that were in attendance
This is LWR doing his bestest Meerkat impression
Local having breakfast - a long distance photo of an otter
Me staring off into the distance whilst on an early Saturday morning walk
A few of us headed out on the Saturday morning to ride the mans favourite road. Here we are parked at the bends near Quinag
MyF8GS and Quinag
After a stop in the new Cocoa Mountain shop at Durness, and after the obligatory coffee and chocolate break, we headed off out to see the sites around Loch Eribol
We turned right off of the north road and headed onto the very small and dirty road that leads down to Altnaharra. This is a mighty fine example of a Brooch that is right at the road side
This is a view of Ben Hope from the same place as the Brooch can be found
And this is the view in the other direction - stunning scenery all around us
Took a slight diversion as we headed back out west from Lairg. Gotta do a little dirt up here as and when the opportunity arrives
After filling ourselves and the bikes up at Ullapool, we headed back towards the campsite. I got a pal to take these photo's with my camera as first myself and then a pal on his glorious RD04 Marathon look-a-likey Africa Twin
11 peeps turned up to say a grand farewell to the man. Countless bottles of fire water were consumed, including one donated by the man himself in the last weeks of his life. Everyone enjoyed the weekend, with some travelling from way darn-sarf.
To Geoff - a grand gent , truely missed

Cheers.
Some of us are going back next year along with his children to scatter his ashes on his favourite mountain - best I get into training as it's a 3 hour walk into the hill then a goodly sized hike to the top
