Ducati Multistrada meets the Strata Florida

It’s been a long time since I’ve visited the Strata Florida trail and I’ve never done it on a big adventure bike. So, what better way to take advantage of the current drought than to head on over to Mid Wales and take a stroll down the Strata on a Ducati Multistrada Enduro Pro.

But first, the Elan Valley

Arrived at the 'Private Road' section at the tail end of the reservoir and met the local farmer who gave me the OK to carry on over the top and through the water splash. Nice guy.

Then onto Strata Florida and nearly missed the start of the trail

The first section was rocky, dry and very hot work

That was brave...that route, on that bike, even in the dry!

That was brave...that route, on that bike, even in the dry!

No way would I have taken the multi down the Strata in normal conditions, especially so when on my own. With the drought I reckoned it a one off chance to give it a go but there were a couple of times when the £19,000 price tag flashed before my eyes.
