Good pics, Andy. Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye on Sunday - you were still busy making Zzzzzs. Hope you all got home OK.

Re: More French lanes
What Andy has said about the reception you get in France when greenlaning is spot on. I live in Limousin and also ride regularly in Poitou Charente, Lot and Perigord. And now Normandy too! I think over 6 years of off-roading in France I have met just 2 angry people blocking the way. One of them was a brit.
On the whole you get waves, smiles and tolerance. The chemins are shared by the chasse (hunt), walkers, horse-riders and mountain bikers - all of whom seem to understand that the trails are a resource in the countryside for the use of everybody, and that we can all share in the beauty of the nature we pass through. Often I can ride for a couple of hours between 12 and 2 on a weekday without meeting a soul. Everyone's at lunch. It's very quiet most of the rest of the time too.
As a rule the chemins are open for use, unless specific (and rare) signs say otherwise. So come to France and enjoy virtually unlimited greenlaning. No 'UCR's, 'BOATS' or joining the 'TRF' needed here. Just look down a dirt track and see where it leads...

Re: More French lanes
Great write ups and pics, pretty gutted I missed out, but I am sat here nursing the Mrs who's ope went well at least.
Yes, Totally agree with the mindset and mentality of sharing lanes here in Brittany, I actually think being an old Brit on an old Bike is a bit of a novelty
Sorry to here about the 644 going down , would be interested to know the cause and like Phil's said, I have plenty of spares for these Russ, let me know if you need anything
