Where's the HISS, when, how much and is it suitable for biggish bikes (800)?

Cheers

Hi Graham,

It's the week after next, most people turing up next Sunday, the 10th but some on Monday. It's at a place called Formiche Alto 30 kms south-east of Teruel - details https://thespanishbiker.wordpress.com/e ... -2013/here.

It's great for big bikes, of¡ur 1200 GSA's coming and we have 800 miles of trails about 80% great for big bikes - all if you're very, very good! :)

Thanks Simon,

Sadly I won't be free for more than a week after that.

]ust done my first tyre change: R1200GS rear Anakee Wild replacement using the bead pro tool only. 70 minutes and minimal blood on knuckles..

So glad I took the advice on this thread and ordered a compressor. Blew three CO2 bulbs and got absolutely nowhere, hand pump didn't seem to be good enough to set the bead either.

Good effort - what happened ?

I don't even bother fecking about trying to seat the bead anymore - quick squirt of wd40 and ignite
Job done

Air from the first bulb seemed to go in but didn't make much difference. Second bulb was leaking everywhere after I pierced it so most escaped before putting it in the tyre with the rest icing up the valve and blocking it. No idea what happened with the third but there were ice crystals growing in the pressure gauge of the pump, which is now broken!

Good idea with the WD40. I used it to help get the tyre on the rim. Will add a small tin to my toolkit too I think.

Changes following that exercise:
- Remove now broken VISION AIR HAND AND CO2 PUMP WITH PRESSURE GAUGE
- Remove CO2 bulbs
- Add normal MTB hand pump that I already had
- Add compressor
- Add WD40
- Add lighter
- Add 2mm allen key (noticed a loose spoke after TET at the weekend - 2mm allen is needed for the grub screw that locks the spoke adjuster)
