HU Russia 2017

Post by PaulinBont »

In Estonia at the momenr; fabulous country: smooth , traffic- free roads. Crossing into Russia next week. Pic of typical scenery; my 5* star hotel next to the 5* lake :)

Russia Visas are a piece of cake. You can do them yourself but I go via an agency as they check my paperwork, make sure I select hotels that won't be a problem etc. Then I take all the paperwork across to the processing centre, get my fingerprints done, often end up writing some letter swearing something or other and off I go. Passport back with me a week later. Last time, for a double entry auto tourism Visa I paid £215 incl special delivery. Yes, it's cheaper if you do it yourself, but if I cock it up then it means a second trip to London for me which is already at minimum £50 and a day off work.

Easy_peasy; used an agency in Edinburgh, £70 and worth every penny. Could have gone to London or Manchester but enjoyed the trip up. Essential to have a Letter of Invation from a hotel, even if you dont stay there.

Alexander, the organiser of HU Russia 2017 did mine.

Hoping to go to Georgia via Stalingrad after HU 2017, then either home via Turkey or Ukraine/ Balkans and to the Stella if I can make it in time :)
