HU Russia 2017

Bit of an experience last night; invited to their first of the mid- summer parties! The Finns, Swedes and Estonians brought their own local drinks to the party. When I offered them tea, with the look on their faces you would have thought that I'd suggested sleeping with their wives!
Got offered some local herbal drink made of forest berries and forest honey. The taste reminded me of drinking battery acid; the second was like Castor R, the third one was like Ribina. ...after that I have no idea but the honour of the Welsh as hard core drinkers was upheld......I have no idea who put me to bed but I have a hazy memory of wearing a viking helmet with golden pig tails....a pink tutu may or may not have been involved. The evening started innocently enough with barbecue, tug of war astride a brook, later there was some log chopping with axes and games of charades and me singing local folk songs, the lyrics consisting entirely of me singing hurdy gurdy at the top of my voice. I apparently promised to stay in a log cabin with Seven and go hunting....which reminds me, when I got up in the morning there was a pair of antlers by the bbq: sorry Bambi!

Are you sure the Viking helmet wasn't wearing you whilst you wore the Tutu :whistle:

On of the guys is a copper in Finland - he told me that the Russian police are pretty hot on traffic violations, to watch my speed and not under any circumstances attempt to bribe my way out of trouble otherwise I might end up becoming the ' girlfriend ' to a mafiaitza in jail and end up gargling man- juice until our Embassy sort out bail!
