From here on it was a run home, we split at Madrid ,Steve heading north west and me north east
I got a transport hotel south of Zaragoza , cheap and clean the morning brought me fecking pissed off with motorways so made up my mind to bang through to Huesca and get into the hills and some small roads , left the N330 after the nice twisties dropping down to the Rio Guarga turning right onto the A1604

And what a delight to ride
IMG_4332 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr
Pass one car and i sure he was lost ............i will go back there the amount of wild camp along the river look the bollox

IMG_4336 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr
More than a couple of wiggily bits
IMG_4337 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

I stopped along here and made a brew
IMG_4343 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr
Whilst chilling i pondered the day ....or mores to the point WHAT DAY WAS IT ? and after checking what were and who i was i realised it was the day my daughter flew in to Toulouse form South Africa and Jax was picking her up at 5pm :woohoo:
Could i make it a suprise them both ??????????????
The GPS said yes 4.40 E.T.A. (thumbs)
The last pic of the trip

Arived at the Airport at 4.45 , hid outside and at 5.00 i phoned Jax to see how it was going , they left the car park 5mins ago we must have arrived and left at the same time ....CA LA VIE
Anyway , to sum up
Distance......11,021 kms
Cost...........€1400
Fuel.....Fecking loads
Food ...when we ate
Beer....when we could
Sweat ....Buckets
Would i do it again ???? HELL NO :woohoo: Maroc yes but the Western Sahara is one hell of a bleak place , i did what i wanted got to the T of C
If others fancy it , DON'T GO IN SUMMER
Some people seem to think i've done some special things been to special places , thing is i'm just a bit of a nutter and there's far more folk out there done more , the worlds shrinking fast , Maroc for one is getting paved over weekly !!!
So if you hanker after something and you can DO IT (thumbs)
And lastly i've come to realise there so much on my doorstep that i need to see , so off down to WIBOs on Friday for a play (thumbs)

Re: ONE LESS IN THE BUCKET
Nice report Phil, thanks for sharing it.
Yes, compared to rest of Maroc W Sahara is not the most scenic. Went down there many years back in a truck one November - much better time to visit ! Best part is the coast, saw 2 killer whales casually 'surfing' parallel to the beach 100 yds out - amazing !
Good to tick it off your list though, if you hadn't gone you wouldn't know yourself what it's like. Kind of the whole point of this 'adventure' biking lark i suppose
Know what you mean about making the most of what's closer to home, especially for us lot in Fr. just did a 5 day round trip to Pyrenees last week...feckin' hot but brill :cheer:
