this is the day that the poor little bike sprung an oil leak, at the point the lever leaves the gear box started seeping and gradually got worse. Nor surprising as the motor was running so hot due to day time temps and being air cooled.

The heat coming up from the motor and in general was slowly broiling my little spermatozoa the old girl was slowly being shaken to bits and needed some more TLC.

today came another example of how nice the locals could be, a guy pulled in front of me in the grove and wound his window down there came a lot of gesticulation which I couldn't follow and was wondering what I had done wrong, again it turns out that the guy was trying to get me to go down a different track (thumbs)

up towards the Gorge

I needed that nights rest as I had come off again on a freshly graded track/road full of marbles by now my front tyre was absolutely fubar and with a very sore knee decided to head north with 3 other guys one of whom was having troubles with his yam.

The day started very cold as we continued to climb up out of the Gorge, we were greeted with a very welcome sunrise, although the old girl was loving the cold air. Stunning scenery appeared out of the dark. A long day up through Meknes where the heat was incredible through the town centre.

The old girl was running fine although I could tell she was getting hot again as my wedding tackle was starting to broil again. I filled up just north of the town and had a half hour break as it was already a long day.

After the break the old girl fired immediately on the press of the starter and off up the road again we going the old girl seems to be happy in the cooler air of early evening until she just decided to stop, no previous warning it was just as if I had turned the motor off.

As I was looking at the bike at the side of the road a local mechanic stopped and had a look at the bike, if I understood him right he said there was no compression ? one of the lads went and got some rope and towed me up the road to a café and a load of guys who were selling oranges.

We tried to contact the guy who was riding the Yam as he had broken down and had his bike in the back of a van, I was hoping that he would come passed and pick me up but it turned out that he had already turned off the road we were on.

So the negotiations began with the locals and a van and driver was hired for the long drive Tanger Med, this is were my map came in very handy as the guys did not seem to know where the port was. We eventually got to the port at midnight just to late to get the last ferry. So I pushed the bike into the port car park and settled down to sleep next to it, a drinks bladder makes an excellent pillow.

The wind got up over night and the temperature dropped sharply by now I had all my clothing on and was really looking for sunrise and the long walk...... :pinch:

If anyone has been through the port they will know what I mean  the push started and the paper work began and the port officials who were genuinely really nice took even more pity on me and the paper work was very quickly dispatched. It took me something like an hour and a quarter to push the bike onto the ferry where the crew took it of me and sorted securing it, I was FUBAR by then and was so glad I was pushing a tidller.

2 other guys joined me on the ferry and our crossing was quite although the wind was increasing and was to stop all other ferries for 3 days. I was allowed off the ferry first and pushed the bike out of the port where I waited for Mark to go and get a van to pick me up, a guy who went beyond the call of duty over the last 2 days to help me out "cheers Mate" (thumbs)

Back in Estepona for much welcome food and sleep as I had had an interesting few days, back in the UK now waiting for the return of my bike and to begin investigation into what happen with my bike (thumbs)

Hopefully Lee and Mark will be along to throw a few photo's up (thumbs)

cheers Spud ;)
