Off Road Tour of A&E (again!)

Post by Lizzie »

As my thumb has just about recovered from my off off-roading at the Boil Mr Toad and I set off with friends for a day out playing on the North York Moors.

After a fun packed hour & half of up and down gravel tracks we were taken to some rock steps. All was going well until I suddenly found myself flying off the bike and downhill. The guys behind say I was high sided and flew some distance. I know I was airborne long enough to notice that I hadn't hit the ground yet so guessed it was going to hurt.

Luckily for me I landed on my side with my bum taking the first impact (knew the extra padding I'd acquired lately would come in handy). Unfortunately I also landed on my arm.

So another day off-roading ended up with a trip to A&E. Thankfully no bones broken just a crack to my radius just below my elbow. I also have a very large bruise somewhere I am not going show in public!

I had the only camera in the group so no pictures or video of my flight. I did film the guys riding the bikes back up though.

A big thank you to Alpine Stella for my body armour - I'm convinced it has been worth every penny.

Not sure Mr Toad is going to let me out again

Rotten luck, Lizzie :pinch: :(

Good move with the armour. Hope you're mended soon. :)

No - my XT wasn't involved this time. I was on a KTM 400 which I'd hired for the days 'tour' - there wasn't a scratch on the bike though as it fell into the heather after I flew off.

My arm didn't need potting so sure it will sort quickly - just need to be careful where I sit for a few days

Bad news that , as for videos ,upload them to a hosting site like vimeo or youtube and post the link from the address bar on here ,the forum should have software to show them directly in the post
