Beta testing

Post by johnnyboxer »

Bling has been arriving lately for the new bike and it's all fitted now, with the exception on some for gaitors

Bashplate was a late arrival so fitted it early this morning

So with the sun shining I headed out to test it all out..... Best day of the week, today - mild and sunny

Second lane of the day, time to reduce the pressures as this past week has been wet and the lanes are a bit 'squirmy'

Nice open lane next, with splendid views of the nearby lakes

Stopped in Masham, at Bordar House for a tea and bacon sarnie, bumped into an old friend 'Diesel Dave' on his HD MT350 and had a chat, we talked lanes and he wanted to explore one, he hadn't done before - so we headed out for 45 mins to do it and travelled over the grouse moors

Dave always has his trusty long coat terrier on board and the dog loves a few trails, on the bike

We went our separate ways after a short while and I carried onto Leyburn for fuel and then took in another favourite, just out of town

Under the disused railway bridge

This trail, gets a bit trickier - but nothing too bad

Cracking day out, really good to get out on the bike and do a few trails again

Dave & his dog are both characters the dog is always centre of attraction in Kinlochleven at pre65 trial time.
Thinking of going to see what TR5Ts he has in at the moment this week.

Looks like you had the best day of the weekend - I was up on the grouse moors on Saturday and it was a real pea-souper, couldn't see further than the edges of the trails, met some lads from Bedfordshire on enduros who were looking for the famous moorland views and all they go was soaked!

Better than I thought, it's a real delight on the road

On the trail, on the nadgery bits, with rocks and streams etc - it's fab, very sure footed

I'm going to fit some wider Trials pegs, to help further

Stock gearing seems fine, it will cruise at 65-70mph and will top out at nigh on 80mph and on the trail, the bike is fine in 1st/2nd/3rd for most trails, with 1st being slow enough to trickle along on the most nadgery trails we have up here

On the pics above, the one with the open trail, I opened her up a bit, in 3rd and 4th and got up to 30 to 40mph, the track has some drainage ditches/humps and the suspension handles well, with no bottoming out and remained composed

I did muddy ruts and it was pretty slimy and the low front mudguard didn't get blocked or bunged up, at all (Brian)

I really like it, one of the best trail bikes, I reckon I have had (thumbs)
