So I got home from work last night around midnight after six long shitty days.
I decided that I was going to the seaside today and wanted an early start.
I dragged my ass out of bed and made a flask of coffee and left the house around 6:20am.
A quick route in my head would take me to Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Leominster, Rhayader, Devils Bridge and the mountain road to Aberystwyth. I was sat on the beach enjoying breakfast just after 9:00am (thumbs)
I love the early morning, mist and fog in the hills, watching the sun rise, no other motors on the road. Fantastic.
After breakfast it was back on the bike and back home through Llanidloes, Newtown, Craven Arms and Bridgnorth.
Roughly 220 miles. What a great morning. I love my bike

Great short trip, any pics to share?

Fantastic, so early mornings are the "best" when every one is all tucked up in bed.
Re: Early morning solo ride
It was a visually stunning morning and I kept getting the urge to stop and grab pictures but there was a selfish devil in me this morning that said "sod the pictures today, I'm keeping the memories to myself"

Nice one. I often drive to work in the early hours and think damn this would be good for the bike. It's just I can't drag myself out of bed when I'm not in work.

Know exactly what you mean - did the same lady Sunday. Out to Burnham-on-Crouch, onto Bradwell-on-Sea. On the way back, heavens opened - complete downpour. loved every minute!

Re: Early morning solo ride
Now there's a thing! Virtually did the same trip my self this morning, but didn't leave home until around 10am. Had to do a bit of hoovering and washing up before I got a day pass. Abergavenny for morning coffee around 11:30. Lunch on the seafront Aberystwyth at about 2pm then the mother of all rides through the Élan Valley around 4ish. Had the place to myself. Probably only passed a couple of cars and not a single bike. Dry roads and sunshine all day. 290 mile round trip. Don't you just love days like today?

I was going to mention the Elan Valley as an option to get to Aberwristwatch. A lovely drop down via Cwmystwyth to the coast. Nice fish and chips on the Prom in Aber!
Another fantastic ride is Abergwesyn Pass from Llanwrtyd Wells and going West , you'll ascend the Devil's Staircase.
Enjoy our glorious countryside and if you're around on the May Bank Holiday weekend , pop along and say Hello at the Taffy Dakar (or even enter )
