Hi all,
I set off tomorrow, all the kit you guys helped me with is packed. My DR-Z400 (I got from ABR) is sorted for the trip and my house is tidy. The weather looks ace and all I need now is one final good nights sleep. I will try and post the odd photo when I can get free WiFi and will put a painfully longwinded ride report up here in about two weeks time.
So fricken excited :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks guys, finished the 200 mile motorway drag to Folkestone (which is not a lovely destination...).
Rich the bike is so well behaved when weighed down with luggage. Well done for setting it up so well

No problem Just be a bit careful if you venture off road if you've got a lot of luggage as the back tends to control where the front is going  Have a great trip - fingers crossed the bike behaves itself !! Cheers Rich

Day one Bristol to Folkestone
So after all the prep, a bad nights sleep but a great breakfast I loaded up and got ready for the trip. I was so excited. It was fathers day while I was away so I kept the card out at all times, it constantly reminded me to ride safe. I made it 3.5miles before pulling in and putting most of my packed clothes on. I think I drank about 7 pints of tea on the motorway, It was a chilly day and I've never gone so far at such speed. The DRZ will do motorway speeds, I don't think it thanks you for it though...
Once I was finally in Folkestone I pulled into my Β£24 a night [strike]prison[/strike] hotel called the Grand Burstin. It was full of old people but had WiFi a bed and TV so I made the most of it. I wondered round town to get beer and biscuits for the evening, I grew up in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth and thought they were run down but Folkestone has areas that are like a ghost town...
