Noticed quite a few last week when I was wandering around.
The roads are pretty grim, spoke to couple of Americans, they were touring Sky and hit a pothole, burst both front tyres, on closer inspection the tyres on the rental car were bald.
I will not mention the company on line, but we know who you are.
They did not seem at the least bit bothered, which is a bit worrying, do people expect that sort of thing over here.

Sprog One spent last 2 months last Summer on the A9, overseeing groundwork drilling investigations. I will send her this link, so she can see what can be achieved with a highways bod with blinkers on.... Even a temporary closure for 5 mins was greeted with horror!!
