A shame it's not India the OP is visiting, bike rental is simple for foreigners. So simple, in fact, that the renter doesn't want any of the rentee's details or even a deposit! At least that was my experience not so long ago, albeit the downside (or upside depending on your view) is that it involved a Himalayan rather than a GS.

US shipping costs info from Nathan the motorcycle travel expert just passing it on no knowledge myself. if you cant be arsed to watch it he is saying the airfreight cost is x3 up on a few years ago. As a reference of sorts I rented a GS12 in L.A in 2007 I was paying £80 a day as I remember with pretty inclusive insurance for 14days.
