Yeah, just seen this, thanks. When I read it earlier, it seemed to say you still need to test before arrival and again within a certain number of days. We plan to travel over mid September, so hoping all restrictions are lifted by then, as the tests and all the documentation (dogs as well remember) is a pin in the arse.

Looks like Austria is now back open to UK travelers:

Entry requirements for Austria from 15 August 2021, 00:00

With the third amendment to the entry regulations of the Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection coming into force on 15 August 2021, the United Kingdom is no longer considered a virus variant area. Austria has removed the general entry ban for travellers arriving from the United Kingdom. Please note that either proof of vaccination, proof of recovery from COVID-19 or a negative COVID-19 test result must be presented upon entry into Austria. Fully vaccinated people no longer have to self-isolate.

Hi all, I am trying to plan a trip to the Italian / French alps for September, but cannot find out when the Italian Government are due to review travel. Currently travelling from the UK require 5 days quarantine with it being extended to end of August.

Just cannot find anywhere on the web where it states review date. Anyone got any contacts or have any intelligence on this subject would be most appreciated.

I go to France a couple of times a year being 5 miles from the ferry to Roscoff.

I keep in touch with my friends there, this week the village I stay at has been hit by covid.....and shut down. Friends at another village are restricted. These things are not being publicised.

I made a final decision not to travel instead booked a 3 week trip for next May.

I suspect that we are going to see a fourth wave and with the current state of hospital admissions, another limited shut down as a result.

Still the case according to my (Honarary) son in law who went out to the family villa in Tuscany. He drove in one hit from S London, then had to stay put, as in theory, did his family that he went to. PCR tests both sides. My daughter was going to go out, but too muchhassle for just 10 days!

He is coming back next weekend so he can get through France to the tunnel quickly. He hopes....

Yep cases in Wales rocketing past last months peak and its beginning to move into the older age ranges , test positivity rate much higher. Yet the MSM narrative seems to be largely ignoring the data untill it inevitably all goes bang again
Hardly surprising given the governments let it rip policy, they know the vaccines alone arent gonna put out this fire without other measures in place
but just as in the last couple of times they are happy to see the weak die and suffer till the numbers start destroying the NHS again.

Friend travelled to Spain, got back on 15th August.

Goes to work Monday.
Not feeling good Tuesday.
Covid positive.
In the meantime he has infected the work location including his key people who infect another work location. Both building sites are shut down. But it has spread outside them.
Had negative test in Spain before leaving but got infected before getting on the plane. Tracing has identified even more cases.

Don't make any long term travel arrangements, they could go pear shaped.

I hadn't seen him since he got back, fortunately.

Well to post some happy news, I've been in France for 3 weeks then Spain 2 weeks and Portugal for 3 weeks... Heading back to UK early September... Had both jabs prior to leaving UK... The only people getting positive are those not jabbed.. Simple as that... Most Europeans of a certain age are jabbed up... Young folks don't care...

Don't be scared of traveling its not all doom and gloom and talk of 4th and 5th wave is load of bollocks... You can't hide away forever...
